The Commercial Kitchen Pilot Program

Kingston residents starting or growing their home-based food business applied to use a council commercial kitchen as part of our 6-month Commercial Kitchen Pilot Program.

Applications are currently being reviewed. Our team will be in touch with successful applicants at the end of March.

Key dates

  • 9 February 2022 – 2 March 2022 - collecting applications
  • 3 March 2022 – 9 March 2022 - reviewing applications
  • 10 March 2022 – 16 March 2022 - screening applicants by phone
  • 17 March 2022 – 23 March 2022 - interviewing shortlisted applicants
  • 28 March 2022 - contacting successful applicants

Lightweight plastic shopping bag ban

The Victorian Government will implement a state-wide ban on lightweight plastic shopping bags from 1 November 2019. The ban applies to ALL retailers, including supermarkets, greengrocers, bakeries, pharmacies, clothes stores, restaurants, cafes, markets & food outlets, and many more. The National Retail Association will help retailers transition away from lightweight bags. Find out more on the bag ban.
