Poker Machine losses - Enough is enough!
Kingston has some of the highest losses to poker machines in the state – with annual losses of more than $85 million.Council and our community are calling on the Victorian Government to make urgent changes to gaming laws to reduce the devastating impact of poker machines in Kingston.
Moorabbin Airport Safety
Kingston is home to the Moorabbin Airport – one of one of the busiest airports in Australia for aircraft movements. Council is keen to see safety standards enhanced to protect the significant residential areas right on the airport’s doorstep.
Improved construction industry standards
Kingston is joining the community in calling for stronger regulation of the building industry. Council is committed to advocate on behalf of the community, to seek better protections for consumers from sub-standard constructions, particularly on apartment buildings.
New regional sporting fields at the Delta site
A unique site has been earmarked for a new regional sportsfield in Kingston’s Green Wedge that could serve the south-east region – but government funding is needed to bring this exciting project to life.
Public Transport for Jobs Growth
Melbourne’s biggest jobs hub outside the CBD is the Monash Jobs Hub – but the area needs significant transport investment to ensure it remains strong over the next 30 years.
Recycled Water in Kingston's Green Wedge
A new pipeline to provide recycled water to Kingston’s Green Wedge would save thousands of litres of valuable drinking water while providing a cost-effective water source for the area’s food producers, garden industry and parklands.
