Public Interest Disclosure

Our Public Interest Disclosure Procedure establishes a system to facilitate the making of disclosures of improper conduct or detrimental action by the City of Kingston or its employees, as we are obliged to do under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012.

Kingston Council is committed to the aims and objectives of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012. We do not tolerate improper conduct by employees, officers or members, nor the taking of reprisals against those who come forward to disclose such conduct.

We recognise the value of transparent and accountable administration and management practices, and support disclosures that reveal corruption, mismanagement or conduct involving a substantial risk to public health and safety or the environment.

We will take all reasonable steps to protect people who come forward with information about improper practices.
