New library website has launched
Published on 02 November 2022
We have a new website.
With a focus on accessibility, functionality, and simplicity the site is your one stop destination for everything libraries across our city.
Designed with responsiveness and flexibility front of mind, the new website is on a platform that will allow the site to continue to evolve and keep up with the changing needs and expectations of our community.
Mobile optimised to allow visitors easy access to key information regardless of what device they’re on, the site has a simplified structure with a much-improved search function and modern design, making it far more user friendly, especially for those less confident with using technology.
Importantly the community and customer first principles and features also extend to the inclusion of translate buttons, allowing the site to be translated into the various languages used within the Kingston community; and a new interactive ‘contact us’ form, allowing our customers to self-serve and get instant answers to commonly asked questions.
The catalogue is also more prominent and easier to access, featuring in several different places on the website, most notably you can now search the catalogue directly from the header of the website.
With 40,614 library members, 209,821 visits to a branch library, and 158,973 visits to the library website in the 2021-22 year alone, it clearly shows the importance of our libraries to our Kingston community, and through this website overhaul, we look forward to providing an even higher level of service moving forward.
