Story Lines writing competition

If you live, learn, work or play in the City of Kingston, you are eligible to enter our Story Lines writing competition for the chance to win fabulous prizes and have your story published.
The age categories are 5 to 7 years, 8 to 10 years, 11 to 13 years and 14 to 16 years.
There will be 3 prizes awarded per age group. Prizes include Westfield vouchers and winners will be published in our 2023 Story Lines book.
Our annual short story and poem writing competition commences Monday 10 July and closes Sunday 17 September.
Winners will be announced on Friday 27 October.

Terms and Conditions
- Entry is free
- Submissions must be G-Rated
- One entry per person
- Entry is open to anyone who is aged 5 to 16 years and lives, goes to school or plays in the City of Kingston
- Word limit: 500 words
- Story or poem must be an original work
- Any illustrations submitted will not be included if story is successfully published
- Entries open Monday 10 July and close Sunday 17 September 2023
- Winners announced Friday 27 October from 4pm, via our website and social media (Facebook and Instagram).
- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
- Winning entries from each age group will be published on Kingston Libraries' website and added to the Short Story Dispenser
- Selected entries will be collated and published in a book
- Entries will not be returned
- Win Westfield vouchers!
- 1st prize: $200
- 2nd prize: $100
- 3rd prize: $50.
