Cheltenham Library Closed

Cheltenham Library will be closed for electrical works from Monday 13 to Friday 17 July. During this time, the return chutes will be closed and there will be no access to the library. All other Kingston libraries will operate as usual. The nearest libraries are Highett Library and Parkdale Library.

Highett Library

In the heart of Highett’s bustling retail strip you’ll find our library conveniently located just a few metres from the train station. This cosy branch offers a children’s corner with reading benches, computers, printing and free Wi-Fi.

Parking

The car park located behind Highett Library offers 17 2-hour parking spaces and 24 4-hour parking spaces. Access is via Highett Road.

Disabled Parking/Accessible Parking

3 accessible parking spaces are available in the Highett Library car park:

at the rear right corner of the library building
at the end of the central row of 2-hour car parks behind the library
at the end of the 4-hour parking spaces by the rear entry to the Highett RSL.

Return chute

Returns can be made to Highett Library anytime of the day using the external returns chute located to the right of the library entrance.

follow staff direction and signage at all times
not obstruct, hinder or interfere with any member of Council staff in the performance of their duties
behave in a manner which is not boisterous or harmful, or which interferes with the quiet enjoyment of any person

not bring any animal into a Council building or allow any animal under an individual's control to remain in a Council building (unless it is an assistance animal)
refrain from using indecent, insulting, offensive or abusive language
ensure all children under the age of 10 years old are in the care of a responsible adult when in a Council building
not destroy, damage, write upon or interfere with any structure or any Council property contained within this building
place rubbish in the bins provided
not leave valuables unattended in the library. It is recommended that customers utilise the lockers where provided. Kingston Libraries do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to belongings whilst on the premises.
wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times.
seek permission before filming, livestreaming or photographing other people within the library.
