Join Us for NSS 2025: A Story Shared Across Australia

Millions of Australians will come together on Wednesday 21 May for National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), an annual event celebrating the power of reading and storytelling.

Now in its 24th year, NSS invites children across the country to read the same picture book at the same time.

This year’s featured title is The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and Danny Snell—a heartwarming story about a well-travelled cat named Tinka and themes of home, identity, and belonging.

Come along and enjoy a live reading of The Truck Cat, followed by a craft activity.

When: Wednesday 21 May, 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Where: Aspendale Gardens Community Centre, 103–105 Kearney Drive
Cost: Free – no bookings required

Join in and celebrate with us the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime with a reading from Kingston's Mayor Cr Georgina Oxley via our YouTube channel.
