In celebration of the Heritage Council of Victoria’s History Month, Kingston Libraries presents History Fest!

Inspired by the widely successful British television show Antiques Roadshow, History Fest is a free event that aims to bring experts, collectors and curious onlookers together under one roof. Community members will be able to bring along an item on the day to be valued or get some conservation advice from an expert. There will also be the opportunity to hear local Kingston historical societies talk about the history of Kingston. Additionally, enjoy browsing stalls and collections curated by local historical societies. See relics from a bygone era, discover what Kingston looked like ‘in olden times’, and chat with members who will be happy to share their knowledge.

What to Expect:

  • Guest Speakers: Hear from a lineup of engaging speakers, including Toni Grinberg from the City of Moorabbin Historical Society, who will present “Then and Now,” discussing the heritage of Moorabbin’s former suburbs.

  • Local Historical Societies: Discover fascinating displays and collections from various historical societies in the area, including the Chelsea & District Historical Society and the Dingley Village Historical Society.

  • Valuation and Conservation Advice: Receive expert guidance on valuing and conserving your historical objects. (Please note that bookings are required for this service.)
