Meet Hayami: Originally from Japan, Hayami came to Melbourne in 2002 for an English study program and has since fallen in love with the city. After 17 years, she became a permanent citizen in 2019. Her connection to the environment is deep-rooted, influenced by her upbringing in a village surrounded by nature and the Japanese principle of Mottainai, which emphasizes minimizing waste.
