May book

Dust Childby Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai

Cover for dust child, a watercolour picture of two women in Áo dài and nón lá, with helicopters in the background.

This is not a war story; it is a story of the impact war has on lives. It is a story of love and loss and of family and forgiveness. People are forced to do things they never normally would for their survival and while there is tragedy there is also hope.

When sisters Trang and Quỳnh move from their rural village to the city of Saigon their decision has ramifications several decades later. Read or listen on BorrowBox
