Celebrate Cultural Diversity Week in Kingston

Cultural Diversity Week is a time to celebrate the many cultures, languages and stories that make Kingston such a vibrant and welcoming community.

From Sunday 21 to Sunday 29 March, our libraries, community hubs, arts and youth venues will come alive with a week of connection, creativity and celebration. It’s the perfect opportunity to try something new, experience a different culture and come together as a community.

Experience the Rhythm of West Africa

The African Drumming Workshop is open to all ages and promises a fun, energetic cultural experience. Participants will explore traditional West African rhythms and songs while learning to play the djembe. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just love music, this uplifting session is a great way to connect through sound and movement.

Enjoy the Sounds of Community

Based in Kingston, the Melbourne Zhiyin Choir is a vibrant community choir made up of Chinese retirees who share a passion for music and connection. Their performances feature songs in both English and Chinese, spanning timeless classics and contemporary favourites. Drop in and enjoy the warmth and harmony of this special local group.
